  • Certified Child Life Specialists provide illness education, enhance coping development, guide clients to improved resilience, and carefully help clients with anticipatory grief when a loved one’s medical outcomes are not what we had hoped. The goal of child life is prevention.

We aim to reduce the distress children and teens experience during times of uncertainty. Child life specialists provide evidence-based, developmentally and psychologically appropriate interventions including therapeutic play, preparation for stressful experiences, and psycho-education to reduce fear, anxiety, and pain. We guide clients through their emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial development in orderto strengthen family communication and relationships.

  • Certified Grief Counselors help clients adjust to life without their loved one in a healthy way while guiding clients through the associated tasks of grieving. We offer grief counseling to people 6-24 years old.

  • TBRI® is designed to meet the complex needs of children who have experienced adversity (i.e.: hospitalization, loss, divorce, etc.), early harm, toxic stress, and/or trauma. Because of their histories, it is often difficult for these children to trust the loving adults in their lives, which often results in perplexing behaviors. TBRI® offers practical tools for parents, caregivers, teachers, or anyone who works with children, to see the “whole child” in their care and help that child reach his highest potential.

Linsey Hammon is a TBRI® Practitioner and offers caregiver training in TBRI® Principles at Lighthouse of Hope.

  • No. We are a preventative service. We help clients find ways to process challenging circumstances, obtain and maintain stability, manage difficult symptoms, strengthen relationships, and find purpose.

We believe that behaviors are communication and emotions are indicators of things happening to you or things happening around you. Unlike licensed mental health care providers, we do not diagnose or offer treatment for mental health disorders. We do help clients find resources for treatment and serious mental health intervention as needed.

  • Being a Christian isn’t really a business decision, it’s just part of who we are. Our faith in Jesus and belief in the Bible certainly guide us in our personal choices and interactions with others, and we are comfortable and able to incorporate Scripture and prayer into our work with clients according to client and family preferences. We are happily able to provide effective services for clients and families of all religious and cultural backgrounds. Benefitting from our curriculums and coaching styles isn’t dependent on us having the same faith. You will receive excellent support and psycho-education regardless.

  • Many individuals see the most benefit from weekly or bimonthly appointments, although this is adjusted based on your particular situation.

  • We have chosen to partner with you instead of insurance companies because we want to offer you a more confidential process of care. Insurance companies place limitations on clients and clinicians. Insurance companies also require we justify your services, including information about your reasons for seeking support, interventions, treatment goals, and responsiveness. Working directly with you allows us to retain the autonomy we need to collaborate as our services are best tailored to meet your needs, giving you the attention and excellent service you deserve.

  • Many people choose to pay out-of-pocket or use a Flexible Spending or Health Savings Account because they feel either limited by the choices available through their insurance provider or micromanaged by the disclosures they need to make in order to justify the care they already know they need. We believe more individuals would seek to support their emotional and mental health if they knew their private information was not being reported back to an insurance provider or third party. Many of our clients are willing to self-pay because they received a referral to Lighthouse of Hope from a trusted source who knows the quality of our services.
